Welcome to Week 41: Our Financial Goal for All of our Agents
According to the National Association of Realtors, the median gross income of Realtors was $39,200 in 2015, down from $45,800 in 2014. The median means that half of all Realtors earned more than $39,200 in gross commissions in 2015 and the other half earned less than $39,200 that year. Gross commissions means the income earned before their split with their broker or before any expenses. (realtor.org/field-guides/field-guide-to-quick-real-estate-statistics}
Breaking it down even further, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the best paid agents, meaning those in the top 25th percentile, earned on average $105,270, while those in the lowest 25th percentile earned approximately $21,540. Our financial goal for each of our agents is to earn a minimum of $100,000 in gross commissions each year. Our agents are professionals in every sense of the word and they deserve to earn professional level compensation. In our opinion, expecting anything less cheapens the value of the services we provide.
If one of our agent earns $100,000 during the year and is paid on a 70/30 split, they are paid $70,000 and the brokerage retains $30,000. What if your goal is to earn over $100,000 a year?
At ROOST Real Estate Co. once an agent surpasses $100,000 in gross commissions during the calendar year, their split with the brokerage jumps to 90% for the rest of the year. This means the very best agents at our company are retaining more of their commissions than agents at other firms.
Our fee structure called Your Pay Your Way™, is designed to offer the very best value to our agents in terms of marketing, training, technology and support. Your Pay Your Way™ ensures our agents are compensated well above industry norms while at the same time, allowing our broker owners to invest in their offices, upgrade as necessary, and add new services over time.
